Is it possble to retake year 12 on different subjects?
Hi! I’m currently at the end of year 12 and am doing STEM courses, I tried to take English lit and chemistry together but it wasn’t possible due to running lessons at the same time—I feel choosing chemistry was a mistake and am very unhappy with it. Is it possible for me to ask about staying an extra year to ‘restart’ my a levels on different courses?

Different schools have different policies on this. Ask your head of sixth whether you can repeat the year! If they say yes then i guess you’ll just start as a year 12 again next year. If they say no, either continue with Chem or apply to a different school, though it’s a bit late for September 2024 applications now. Hope this helps in some way.
