Need Advice on Resolving ELQ Issue with Student Finance

Hi everyone,

I need some advice. I'm currently studying for a UAL Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art and Design and have applied for a Fine Art degree. However, Student Finance England says I'm ineligible for funding due to having an Equivalent Level Qualification (ELQ).

I've clarified that my current course is a Level 3 qualification and not equivalent to a degree. I've sent an email with this information and been on the phone with them but I haven’t heard anything in two weeks.

Has anyone faced a similar issue? How long did it take to resolve? Any tips on what else I can do?

Hi Bella1309,

We don't correspond via email so this may be why you haven't heard anything yet. It sounds like an error if you have been made ineligible for funding for a degree due to having a Level 3 qualification. If you give us a call or start a live chat through your online account one of my colleagues should be able to refer this to our assessment team to resolve.

Thanks,
Calum
