What are my chances through clearing with PPP?

I'm a student finishing a Level 3 NED (in Information & Technology), and I'm looking forward to enter a Mechatronics/Robotics degree this year.

Problems are that I am most likely getting a MPP/PPP and I have to go through clearing since I didn't apply before January.
A majority of Uni's that I have searched ask for A-Levels in physics, mathematics etc... and I don't mind doing a foundation year either.

So my question is how screwed am I?

My grades make me look stupid so I must excel in my personal statement.
I have also tinkered with robotics; trying to self-learn about electrical systems, classical mechanics, CAD design and embbeded systems for the past months.
I always loved maths, physics, astronomy and programming, but this BTEC was a plan B since I didnt meet my GCSE grades for A-Levels.

Is there anything I could say when contacting universities that may help?
What are my chances getting through clearing with these grades?

Any and all advice is appreciated.

Have you started your UCAS application? You can still apply now even though the deadline has passed (and you need a full UCAS application to use clearing so it’s better to apply now than to wait).

You should be able to search on UCAS for courses that are still accepting late applications (90% of courses) to find some possible options.

I agree with @PQ. Missing the January "equal consideration" deadline does not mean you can only apply via Clearing - unless all the courses to which you'd like to apply are closed to new applications. That does not appear to be the case.

According to UCAS search, several relevant courses are still accepting applications. For example:

BEng (Hons) Mechatronics and Robotics at De Montfort University
BEng (Hons) Mechatronics and Robotics at Middlesex University
BEng (Hons) Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering at Anglia Ruskin University
BEng (Hons) Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering at University of Brighton

You could apply for any for or all of these courses today. Although all of them have grade requirements which exceed the PPP/MPP grades you say you're likely to get, some have "with Foundation Year" variants which don't.

For example for their "with Foundation Year" variant, Middlesex University are looking for MPP. (details.)

Similarly, for their "with Integrated Foundation Year" variant University of Brighton are looking for MMM-MMP, but that doesn't mean they won't make you an offer. (Details)

I suggest you don't wait for Clearing, which is always a bit of a gamble, but apply now via the regular "five choices" application process.
