Would my grades be good enough for Cambrdige foundation year humanities?

A Level (predicted-ish, early days) grades: BBB or maybe ABB. I'm hoping to get higher by the start of next year.
One EPQ hopefully.

GCSEs: 7/8 Combined Science Trilogy, 8 Geography, 7/8 English, 5 Maths, 6 German.

They sound fine for the normal entry to cambridge.Did you have any extenuating circumstances at the time you sat your gcses as I think thats what the foundation year is aimed at.

Late reply and double check, but I'm pretty sure the offer is always BBB so that should be fine

Ok. It's just I've heard horror stories from people who got BBB and the criteria, but didn't get an offer 😓

That's always going to be the case sadly, they can't give offers to everyone who applies with predicted BBB+ (pretty sure they can only give offers to a maximum of 50 people per year, and many more than that must be applying)

Hmm. I guess you might need higher than the required grades to stand out a little. I hope you wish me good luck on my assessments this term, as they'll mostly determine expected grades.

Nah I think you're thinking about it a bit wrong. If you're eligible (even if it's just with the minimum BBB/equivalent UCAS points) and your personal statement is good enough, it'd say it's much more about how you do at admissions assessment / interviews / FYSAQ from that point on. The whole point is sort of that it's unfair to assess disadvantaged students only on their A level grades. Good luck with them though!

Ah, all right: I get what you mean. I guess now I'll have to brush up my writing and speaking skills i.e. learn how to smile and say good afternoon!

Thank you very much for the information. It's a great help.

OH YOU'RE RIGHT. You're a literal angel for letting me know about this, thank you. Would you also have to provide a death certificate for the ECF, or do you provide that in the FYSAQ?

Bereavement (my father passed was in hospital from April of y12 to summer going into y13, he passed away in August) which affected how much I achieved for my mocks/predicted grades

sorry for your loss.im not too sure but if you school are aware then your teacher can include it in your reference or the teacher can fill out extenuating circumstances form. Its probably best if you email the foundation year team to confirm.
