[IGCSE] Missed second foundation maths exam, is special consideration possible?

I went to sit my second maths paper this morning, only to be told that the exam was not today but 3 days ago. I was given the wrong date by the person responsible for managing our time table.

I sat the first maths exam just fine, so do you think that I might have a chance at receiving special consideration?

Multiple others were pulled aside and were also told that their exam was not today, they seemed to have multiple conflicting time tables floating around and were not very clear on dates so I'm not the only one this happened to, nor the worst case. We were directed to send an email in explaining the situation, but we were told it wasn't a guarantee.

Do you think that showing up on time, even if on the wrong date, shows that we fully intended to sit the second paper and if so would that be reason enough to qualify for special consideration?

This mess up wasn't my fault whatsoever but I really don't want months of studying to be for nothing, especially after the intense stress sitting the first exam caused me. I don't know if I can go through all of this a second time. Just wondering if anybody else ever went through the same thing and might be able to share their experience with this? Thanks.
