Struggling to promote my business on TikTok?

Hi all,

I recently started a small business of Indian jewellery, and I mainly post on TikTok and Instagram. However, I am seeing to progress and it is very disappointing as I am working very very hard.

My first videos on TT got all 2k views in less than 15 minutes - NO SALES

After 1 week or so, I got trapped in the 200 views jails and I am still there - It's been 2 months

I tried everything, changing light, changing types of videos, quality, using different phrases

Nothing seems to work, it feels like TT is not even giving me a chance

I am stuck at 90 followers and I have made only 2 sales

Promoting does not work

Let's not even talk about IG as that is even worse

Does anyone have a any tips???? I am really struggling and it is really putting me off. Is it all based on luck?

I used to post randomly before on my private account, and all my videos got a lot of views (up to 80k), however, if I post my business content there, again max 300 views.

Sorry I am so frustrated and I am not seeing results, although I am putting A LOT of effort in this.

Hi there, I can understand why it might be quite frustrating but TT and Insta are platforms that many business use for promotion, it's a highly competitive market, the jewellery market. I know that I scroll on TT and Insta and see lots of lovely jewellery but I don't buy it because it's too expensive or it's not something I need to buy immediately. What are your prices like? Obviously I'm not suggesting you lower them because if you work hard on them then that should be reflected in the price, but it does need to be reasonable. I would also say that the way you advertise / promote your business needs to be really appealing to your target market. Who are you selling to? Is it the younger generation, older generation, everyone, just Indians or every ethnicity? Because this can help you target your advertising. If you can set out clearly who you're advertising to you can then develop a video or post to appeal to them. Have you tried participating in trends? There was that Asoka makeup trend going round, you could have, and still can, participate in that trend using your jewellery so people will see it and then want to buy it. Try participating in these trends, or getting other people to, and it can be any trend, especially if you want to appeal to a younger audience, because if you wear some eye-catching jewellery then people may be more likely to buy it. Also, you could try getting family members and friends or other people to promote your brand, if anyone buys from your brand, you could ask them to post a picture of them wearing your jewellery on their story / TT / Insta and you can branch out recognition from there.
I hope some of this is useful and I'm sorry things aren't going the way you hoped, but I do hope they get better
