Medical student but want to apply for dentistry??

I started studying medicine in 2023 straight after completing my advanced highers. It's now June 2024 and I have failed all my exams and am dreading to resit them as I know I will definitely fail them. I came into medicine for the wrong reasons not realising how long and hard it actually is and I dont think its what I want do continue doing. I have always had an interest in dentistry and want to apply for 2025 but I am now scared whether UCAS or the uni will know that I was a medical student and I (either failed if I sit the resits) or dropped out (if I decide to not resit) Either way I don't think they would be in favour of accepting me. I have phoned UCAS but its wasn't much help they basically said that the uni dont need to know if you dont put it down in your education section, however they will be wondering why I took two years out after School, and what I was doing in that duration. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, im just stuck on what to do at the moment.

If this is one of your reasons for wanting to leave medicine bug enter dentistry I don’t think you should be doing dentistry either… it’s also 5+years and incredibly difficult because there is a lot of medicine cross over
