What A level subjects do I choose ???

I have just given my GCSEs and I took Accounting, Economics and Business Studies. I wanna become a CEO, investment banker, corporate lawyer or an economist hence I took no sciences. I have heard that universities don't particularly favour Economics and Business Studies because of the overlap. So in A levels I might take Accounting, Law, Business and Economics but the thing is WOULD I BE ABLE TO STUDY 4 SUBJECTS !? And if I need 3, which one of these should I drop ?????

If you want to do economics/ finance at uni you will definitely need a level maths
Corporate law wont require it so economics, law and accounting would be fine, although law is by no means a requirement and will not particularly give you a leg up
I would deffo choose economics over business studies, and maybe consider a humanity like history or English?

definitely take maths, and maybe also further maths if you're interested in economics at a prestigious university. also dont bother with business studies if you're doing economics level as you're correct about the overlap. btw sciences are actually quite respected in the corporate world, if you were interested in one but didn't pick it because you thought its not respected.

I agree with the other replies in this thread. Maths is a really valuable A-level which will be useful regardless of what you end up doing at uni. Only consider further Maths if you enjoy maths and you are reaching for top universities. It's a big step up in difficulty from the standard Maths A-level, and in my experience it was a big time commitment. However, it increased my confidence with maths immeasurably, and I think that it was worth all the hours that I sunk in.

I would drop either Accounting or Business studies and take up one of the natural sciences instead. You'll build useful skills and learn interesting things. You don't need accounting or business studies at A-level if you want to pursue the career paths that you listed. Companies generally won't disregard your application purely based off of your A-level choices unless it's in a specialist subject area.

As a final note, you should check out the entry requirements for uni courses that you are interested in to get a better idea of what you might want to do. They usually have lists of preferred subjects for every module (I know that LSE at least has a good breakdown for their courses).
