Hi! I was hoping for some advice about These universities because for my insurance choice I'm deciding between Liverpool and Newcastle for biology. I will most likely end up at my insurance as my firm has very high requirements but I'm struggling to decide I haven't visited either.
Here are my thoughts/notes;
-Liverpool is higher ranked.
-Newcastle= BBC offer, Liverpool = ABB offer.
-I'm predicted ABD.
-BUT Liverpool has told me they will give me special consideration on results day. I am a predicted ABD student.
-Liverpool= more rainy Newcastle =more cold (I get cold VERY easily).
-Liverpool seems to have more student activities going on in the actual university but Newcastle is a known party city.
-Liverpool has better graduate prospects but this may be because it is more leaning towards human health science (I'm more interested in the ecology and conservation that Newcastle leans towards)
-Newcastle has 1 module on neuroscience which I'm interested in.
-Liverpool is nearer to my home and has cheaper travel.
-I feel as though Liverpool is more connected to other cities (and industries?) than Newcastle.
-In terms of cost of living they seem to be similar, though Liverpool university accommodation is more expensive, (though after first year its cheaper as you move to non university run accommodation.)
-The Liverpool website only refers to one trip to Uganda but Newcastle has references to 4+ trips, some in the UK some international
-As for years/semesters/summers abroad they have similar opportunities as far as I can tell but Newcastle has more definite options.
-As for placements they both have that option but Newcastle more clearly states it.
-Newcastle has slightly lower student satisfaction and slightly better research though I know this isn't helpful to refer to.
If anyone has information on whether Liverpool has;
-different trips/ placement opportunities
-neuroscience options
-good student activities
-accessible years abroad
-better graduate prospects
Or if you have experience with travelling from Liverpool/Newcastle to London
Or if you;
-know whether Liverpool is more or less connected
-have experience of how lenient Liverpool is on results day
-know how good either uni is in terms of teaching an assessments
Any info would be extremely helpful- I know that that is a lot to ask.
Thanks

(I know that the deadline has passed; Liverpool has given me permission to switch to their course if I choose to)
