Eduqas A-Level Computer Science Component 1 (10th of June 2024)

Seeing as there isn't one already, I've decided to create this exam chat so that people can help each other with revision for the A Level exam and to discuss the exam afterwards.

This website as well as adacomputerscience.org are quite useful for finding content to revise from.

What do you think the last , long question is going to be?

Also the algorithm is likely to be either bubble sort or quicksort because they haven't been done in a while. It cannot be insertion sort because they did that last year

Sorry i meant binary search not bubble sort. It appears that the algorithms appear roughly every 4 years. Binary search was 2020 and quicksort was 2021

Thought there wasnt one of these seeing as like 3% take eduquas.
Have they ever asked the long awnser question on professional conduct in the industry? wouldnt be surprised if its that or something about AI seeing how big of a topic it is currently

Yea I actually don't know, let me check the past paper question picker someone in the year above coded

Actually I just realised the topic of last question seemed to repeated every 4 years too. 2017 was paradigms and so was 2021

Reply 11

Yea 2022 was conduct

Sorry i didn't reply to this earlier, it didn't show

I think it might be about backup and recovery process because it's not in any of the past papers. Or code of conduct for professional behaviour / computer legislation because the moral, ethic, employement about technologies came out last year.

What do you think?

Yes, they might ask about binary search or quick sort; that was also what I was thinking about. Those two are valid but can they ask about linear search algorithm because they've never asked about it before

Did they? I don't remember that. I did the 2023 paper for mocks. I remember I talked about data usage from companies in it and it taking up a large portion of global gdp

Oh nice one, that's the exact grade boundary for an A* last year. I only need an A because it's the least important of my 3 a levels for my offer
