Hi, I did AQA economics back in 2022 and got an A*. If your school has a subscription, UpLearn was very useful for revision (but I didn't find it useful for learning content for the first time, it didn't go into too much depth). I did most of my learning in the classroom and then just did a lot of practise questions. Planning essays was the most useful learning activity imo. It ensures that you gain a good understanding of the models, diagrams, and the theory you need to examine policy.

In short, my best advice is to just start working through past exam papers sooner rather than later. Physics and Maths tutor has past economics exams that you can use, and there are plenty of other resources online for other exam boards.

Finally, very strong recommendation for Econplusdal's YouTube videos. They explain things with as much depth and clarity as you could ever hope for. As a current Econ student at uni, I still go back every now and again to refresh my memory of basic topics using his videos. (he also separates his videos by exam board, so you you could look for only his OCR content if you wanted to).

Did you use your textbook much ?

It would probably benefit you to have one, but when I was studying there was no good AQA textbook so I only used it to make sure I was learning the right stuff. If OCR has a good textbook then use it for sure. (My problem with the AQA textbook was that all the content was too shallow. Econplusdal and other sources go into a lot more depth).

However, the textbook did have some good case studies and I'm sure the OCR one does too.

I didn't make flashcards and I only had notes from school classes. You may be different, and I am not recommending that you follow exactly what I did. I just found it to be most useful to spend that time doing more practise questions instead.

I did not buy any of econplusdal's books. I think that his videos are more than enough as revision resources. Ultimately, you should follow what you have found to be most effective for yourself in the past. You may benefit more from taking in-depth notes. You have time to experiment a bit with how you study.

seen this a bit late but if you're in y12 and doing AQA/OCR, the best thing you can do is prepare with tons of real world examples and evaluation points and also finding as many MCQs as you can to test your knowledge.

There was this website I used during my a levels that sold sort of like an all-inclusive economics pack for pretty cheap like mcq packs, application etc. If you want the link, I can send it over im sure theres more up to date stuff included (just a suggestion but id highly recommend looking into it if you wanna be sharp for next year)

Econ plus dal and write essays based on exam technique and structure always link your essay points to the question and use a good structure of analysis and eval if you feel a diagram can illustrate your analysis add it whether specified or not always make a judgement at the end of your 12. 8 and 25 markers if they say use of stimulus material USE IT IN THE ESSAY. always use real world examples and explain how the essay with the example answers the question in questions of extended response the better the depth of analysis and eval as well as judgment linked to the question the better the essay standing lastly USE ECONOMIC TERMS AS MUCH AS YOU CAN AND EXPLAIN EACH ONE YOU USE AND HOW IT APPLIES TO THE QUESTION
