Leicester University - Access to HE

I have done my access to medicine course. I want to know if I should do any work experience for applying for medicine at Leicester University?

Hi @Harsha_203

Congratulations on completing your Access to Medicine course! Gaining work experience is highly beneficial for applying to the Medicine program at the University of Leicester.

You should look to gain some clinical experience by volunteering in hospitals, clinics, or care homes, and gaining any hands-on experience in a healthcare setting.
Or non clinical experience through volunteering in roles that require caring for others, such as working with vulnerable groups or in community projects, can also be valuable. This shows your ability to work with a diverse range of people and your commitment to helping others.

If you need help finding work experience, consider reaching out to local hospitals, GP surgeries, or volunteer organizations.

Use your work experience effectively in your personal statement and be prepared to discuss it during your interviews. Be clear about what you did, what you learned, and how it has prepared you for a career in medicine.

Good luck with your application!
