Not for most subjects but I think had some courses last year. What course.

Harder to fill courses only - languages, social sciences, accounting - and sometimes the less popular STEM subjects like Biology, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering.

Bath will publish details of any Clearing vacancies on its website the evening before Results Day.
This gives you time to think and be ready to make that phone call.
You will need to be quick on Results Day because anything that is available will 'sell out' by about 9:30am.

Considering the pressures to make decisions quickly- is it just one telephone number for all clearing courses? Is it the same telephone number listed on the Bath Clearing thread on here? Or does that telephone number change for results day clearing? Do the lines get swamped so you may not even get through? If another course is in clearing with lower grades is it still the same process to see if they’d accept a course switch ? You have to wait until results day or is it worth contacting them before to establish what the lowest grades accepted would be ? Thank you

The Clearing phone number will be published on the website along with details of any Clearing vacancies the night before Results Day - look from about 6pm.

They wont have a clue about what will be in Clearing right now - and they certainly wont be discussing grade requirements. Like everyone else you will just have to wait for Results Day.

Lines open at 8am - and in previous years, they have been 'sold out' by just after 9am.

Thankyou @McGinger .

Here is the place to keep your eye on: https://www.bath.ac.uk/campaigns/apply-through-clearing/ . The clearing phone line number will be published there and in several other places on the Bath website. For now please direct any queries to admissions on [email protected] or 01225 383019. If you are interested in clearing then please take a look at the courses currently on the clearing page and call us up on 15th August to get all of your questions answered. Its rare that people don't get through at all, but please be aware you may have to wait a few minutes for someone to get to you.

I hope that helps - best of luck for results day, we're here rooting for you all

Since lines open at 8am, is there anyway to get your results earlier. How does it work?

When results are released will depend on your school/college. It used to be you could open ucas at 8am and it would tell you whether you are accepted by your firm, insurance or put in clearing. It was 8.30 I think last year so you might well know whether you are i in university before you get your grades from the school.

The embargo period imposed by exam boards on UCAS, universities, schools and colleges only stops at 8am on Thursday.
None of those organisations are going to risk losing early access to results by telling you your results early.

Only by talking to your school - and they are not supposed to release your results to you until 8am at the earliest, This is so everyone gets the same chances at Clearing.

Liverpool University is conducting clearing via email this year. The website states they aim to get back within a day. How does it work then if you get a clearing option/offer from another University? But you are say still waiting to hear back from Liverpool? If Universities make a clearing offer do you have to say yes or no straight away if it’s an over the phone offer ? Also - say you get your firm/and or insurance but you want to switch course at either one of those choices or an entirely different University - do you have to decline firm/insurance offers before you contact Universities to see if spaces available and you are accepted via clearing? I’ve read all the very helpful links thank you and mostly got it just these points clarifying would be most appreciated especially if some Universities are now doing email applications. Parent here just wanting to ensure all understood!

You would be better off posting these questions in a new thread in applications, clearing and ucas. You’ve posted them as a reply to a discussion about Bath university specifically.
