Feeling about A-Levels so far?

Hello everyone!
I've firmed my BSc/BEng Computer Science course and I am currently working through my A-Levels (OCR Computer Science, Edexcel Maths and Further Maths and OCR A Physics).
I feel like exams so far (except Further Mechanics 1) have been quite nice, anyone have any opinions they'd like to share at all?

Hey. I firmed my CS course too, need two A*s. I do Edexcel further and I feel you completely about mechanics yesterday. The paper wasn't horrendous but my brain just wasn't there fully. Like the 'find e' question I just randomly decided to use trig cos they didnt give us the mass so I though I couldn't use the -eU.I=V.I thing. The epe question I didnt complete and the final question as well I didnt finish part c. First two core went well though so hopefully that balances out with yesterday. Just need to do really well in my other applied.

I know that everyone in my class at the very least did pretty bad on the last two q’s so I imagine the grade boundaries are probably gonna be a little lower than normal for mechs. I hope so at least 😭. Otherwise though I think you’re right the core papers seemed pretty good so I don’t think a small slip up on mechanics in determinedly. Good luck getting your grades!

Hi, I do Physics, Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry and I do OCR A for all my subjects. So far there haven't been any major disasters. I feel like overall I did my best in my papers so far and prepared enough for them. I made some dumb errors in the Further Maths core papers but it could have gone a lot worse. Single Maths was OK apart from the parametric equations questions at the end💀 Physics paper 2 went really well but I'm worried about paper 1. I genuinely thought it was fine apart from a few awful questions (like the satellite 6 marker) but I've seen so many people say that it went horribly and now I'm worried that I messed up so badly that I didn't even realise that I messed up. I'm good at Physics and it's by far my strongest subject (A* prediction) but I also make stupid mistakes sometimes and usually if I find a paper easy and everyone else found it hard then it means I messed up

Don’t stress about physics! My class and a lot of people I have talked to about it have said it was easy. Now I don’t need a grade on it as my requirements are ABB and I find further maths easier but even having only revised for each physics paper the day before I found it quite good so I think you’ve just done well and knew your stuff! No point in adding extra stress worrying about it half way through exams anyway 😅

Pure maths and core pure has been quite blessed for me though I’ve seen quite a few debates about the difficulty of the paper online, with quite a few people saying the struggled though I doubt that is the majority, so I’m scared of the grade boundaries 💀

I hope the boundaries are generous man. Good luck to you as well, lets pull through in the end and get these grades!!

Further Maths OCR MEI I haven’t been doing as well as I hoped. The first exam (core pure), I did alright, even though my paper wasn’t stapled, but I don’t think I’ll be ranked high (probs B or low A), MWA and Mech I attempted all, but would have wanted more time, so I’m hoping I’ll do better in stats (as that was my best paper for the AS).

Maths OCR MEI, has been a delight. Some harder/confusing questions, but the content itself wasn’t the problem. (I stared at the bridge question for a good fifteen minutes. I just didn’t get it at all.)

Physics Edexcel The first paper was amazing (only struggled on the 4 marker with the particles(?)), and the second paper was okay??? I attempted everything, but I don’t think I got the balloon question right, and they were my weaker topics.

Like all exams just prey you don’t get hay fever, don’t get a cold, don’t have a row with your girlfriend/ partner, because how you feel on the day of your exam is what you’ll be assessed on more so than what you know of the subject.

What’s your requirements for Further if you don’t mind me asking?

Have been good so far so praying the streak continues 😂. Has been convenient that I only have at most 1 exam a day unlike some of my very unlucky friends. That is an issue with exams tho so you ain’t wrong. Seems a little harsh don’t it…

Do you mean predicted? I’m predicted an A (hah, unlikely, but I got an A in the AS), but I only need a B for my firm choice, and a D for my insurance (I’m lucky they gave me a better offer bc it means I can fail haha). I’m hoping if I get AAC, my firm choice will still accept me.

I meant to meet your offer but as long as long as not all the cards aren’t off the table don’t knock it! Good luck with the rest of your exams I hope you get into your firm choice 😤

Thank you! Thankfully it’s almost over 🥹 can’t wait to sleep for a full day after all this…

Congrats! My pure maths went pretty well as well (even though the latter questions were a little difficult) so I guess it’s looking up for us all 😂
