GCSE resits dentistry

I know I might of asked this but I’ve literally lost all hope at this point.
Do top dental unis like KCL care too much about gcse resits. After I get my gcse results I think I would have got a 7 in maths, an 8 in English lang , an 8 in English lit, and an 8 in bio. I really would like to resit these to get a 9. Only maths resit would be due to extenuating circumstances but other 3 wouldn’t. Do you think KCL would care if I resat 4 GCSEs so my overall GCSEs would be 999999988777 ?
I’ve emailed them but they have not responded. Do you think it would put me in disadvantage even if it increases my grades?

You should only resit if you get BELOW a grade 5/6 in maths or english. There is absolutely no need to resit any of those subjects if you achieve grade 7s or 8s - this is impressive to them. KCL and most other universities requires a minimum of a grade 6 in maths and english, so if you resit, you are wasting your time and you are also putting yourself at disadvantage by re sitting because gcse resits aren't as preferable.
Also, GCSEs is not the main factor they take into account. There are people who has gotten into dentistry even though they have averages of grade 6 and 7s, because other parts of their applications was impressive e.g. personal statement.
Your predicted grades are amazing, do not waste your time in resitting!

why are you asking about 'top dental unis'

does the ranking matter for dentistry? it doesn't for med unless you really want to go abroad and even then it's hard to get into anything super competitive

Hi thank you for the advice , but KCL has a 40% weighting on GCSEs and they shortlist people based on GCSEs and UCAT, so would it really put me at a disadvantage even if my grades are improved?
