Drawings for educational series

So I want to create a fun educational series called “The Science Nerds” which is basically a story where kids/teenagers teach each other KS3/GCSE science. The purpose is to help people revise and enjoy science more. I have no problem writing the stories and creating the plot. However I would like some cartoon drawings for it but I am terrible at art.

If you were serious and wanted to invest some money into this idea, you could always commission an artist on a website like fiverr. Although I'm now realising that most people on there probably use AI art. What's the issue with AI art for you? If you find the right program, it can really do any style

The reason I don’t want AI art is:
It tried doing that for me before
But either the characters look extremely disfigured and disturbing
It gives me the wrong number of characters
The AI doesn’t follow instructions, for example:
I say 1 boy with purple hair and blue eyes, 1 girl with red hair and red eyes and it gives me a boy with red hair and blue eyes and a girl with purple hair and blue eyes
I say a girl seriously injured and in agony that has been stabbed, but the expression is not extreme at all, just a bit disturbed, and there are no stab wounds
I say a girl with purple hair, pink eyes and blue clothes but it gives me a blue-eyed girl instead of a pink-eyed one
I want to create an ice sculpture of a girl like in Frozen when Anna turns into ice, they give me a flesh girl “wearing” ice instead
I use AI art for fun not projects like these
