KCL Great dover street apartments firstyear questions!!

i watched some videos on youtube about gdsa rooms, and i have a few questions -

1) trivial but which side of the apartments (which rooms/block) have a view of the shard?
2) how bad is it really to live near tabard gardens cuz i saw a post saying its nicknamed stabbard gardens 💀 i dont live in london
3) is the wet room bathroom really that bad
4) i know that cleaners obviously don't clean the rooms thru the year, but does anything happen over the summer bc im not looking forward to getting there and having a nasty room to be welcomed in

I'm also gonna be staying there and i'm so scared for the wet room bathroom it just looks like the worst architecture i've ever seen

ye it seems horrible but that's still way better than sharing with other ppl

Exactly this i keep telling myself as long as it's an ensuite it's worth it... even tho the KAAS non ensuites were £3000 cheaper😭😭😭

ik this thread was a while ago but third year KCL student here!! I stayed in GDSA for my first year so should be able to help :smile:

I believe it's blocks 3-7 which have a view of the shard but only if you're on the back facing apartments which were E-G? (for context I was room C in an apartment in block 6 and I couldn't see the Shard from my room since I faced the courtyard but we could see it from the kitchen)

I didn't live in London before uni either and had also heard the rumour, but in my experience it was fine! Couple of times I'd be coming back from gigs/events at after 11 and I never had any problems, and it's perfectly fine in the daytime as it's usually joggers, other students and the local primary school in there

I mean...it's not great but it's not awful. It means your floor and the toilet (but not the toilet roll cause that's under the sink) gets all wet every time you have a shower, but it's fine
