hi! current student here, i think you only need to take the subject entrance exam for chemistry (basically gcse content) for you to switch from physics to chemistry at the start of term. hope this helps :>>

yo what year are you in how is the school. As someone who is joining as a day student do you still get a chance to talk to the boarding students a lot or nah. Also is the workload quite hard since the school hours are so long?

hii! i'm actually year 13 already so i won't be seeing you next year🥲 i'm also a boarding student and i'm friends with some day students (we see you guys in our classes so if you talk to people you'll make loads of friends🫶🏻) also the house system kind of forces you to talk to people in the first few days even before class starts too haha (spoiler alert:we don't really gaf after that)

school hours are long but i found the workload manageable, the homework isn't really a lot (unless you also decide to take an EPQ, which i thankfully dropped)
but you do kind of have to study ahead for mocks

Cheers for the advice. Also im tryna go HKU to study dentistry. I saw you were talking about HKU in your previous posts. How do you think Cardiff helps you prepare for Universities abroad and what uni are you going to?

tbh i feel like mostly i did the work myself (like finding out how to apply for unis plus the ucas and non-jupas work)
the teachers were pretty helpful when we had to write our personal statements that's all

i originally was set to be in hk unis to study engineering (even when i wanted to do medicine, these were my only offers💀) but i was humbled by both my unit 3 and unit 4 maths papers😭 i'm only hoping that i get enough marks for an A even with my A* prediction originally💀 so idk
