talking to companies about degree apprenticeships

hey, I am starting to really consider doing degree apprenticeships but I would like to also move out from home and live in Liverpool where my boyfriend is going to study too, there isn't many companies offering the degree apprenticeship in real estate/surveying there. is it unheard of to approach companies asking if they would start apprenticeship schemes, I've been looking around online and haven't found many answers so any experience with applying for degree apprenticeships or if anyone has done similar would be great, thanks xx

its obviously not impossible, and if you know any business people who might hire i'd say go for it, but it's also not a trivial ask and probably takes a lot more work than just hiring someone - https://www.gov.uk/employing-an-apprentice

i think best advice i can give you is try and find the right job in the right situation first, rather than prioritising being closely located with your boyfriend

i mean you're better off asking than not asking, seeing if they're planning on opening any apprenticeships for your year. degree apprenticeships are sometimes difficult to come by but not impossible
id keep checking the government apprenticeship site and also company sites (a lot of companies exclusively only do their apprenticeship advertising through their site)
