A-Level Resits Help

Lets say on a-levels results day my results are one or two grades below my offer. Can i just retake the alevels that had the low grades instead of retaking all 3 a-levels? And will I have to reapply to uni entirely or just tell my conditional offer university to put my offer on hold etc. Thanks in advance!

Hi! I believe that unfortunately, you'll probably have to reapply to university for the next year's entry. You also don't need to retake all of them, you can 'retake' as many or as little as you like! You'll just have to arrange with an external centre or your school to find out where you'll take your resits. Just be aware, it does cost money to retake subjects, I believe around £100-300 each subject but I'm not sure! Let me know if you have any other questions!

Your unis may take you anyway. They get your results before you do and go through near misses. If they can't offer you a place they reject you and you can use clearing or decide to resit. If you resit you apply to UCAS again.

You'll have to ask them, but they definitely will do your reference!

You cannot 'hold over' an offer.
If you are rejected in August, and resit, you would need to reapply through UCAS for next year.
