Summer is here and exams are mostly over! Here are a few interesting exhibitions that caught my eye this Summer?
Japan House London: Design Discoveries
Nestled along Kensington High Street, Japan House London showcases a fascinating exhibition celebrating Japanese craftsmanship and design. Although Japan is commonly associated with intricate design, there are no dedicated national museums for design. ‘Design Discoveries' questions: If there were a permanent Japanese design collection, what would you put in it?. The exhibit features seven Japanese designers spanning from various design disciplines like fashion and architecture, resulting in treasures some in which span 10,000 years of history!
The exhibit is also free and is open till the 8th of September!
National History Museum: Wildlife Photographer of the Year
Open till the 30th of June, the Wildlife Photographer of Year shows our world’s diverse range of habitats and landscapes inhabited by unique creatures and animals at the Natural History Museum! From urban cityscapes to deep polar seas, some of the most gifted wildlife photographers capture the ways in which we have impacted and shape the natural world in both negative and positive ways. Tickets are £15 and guided tours are recommended to get the most out of the exhibition.
The British Museum: Legion: Life in the Roman Army
Ever wondered what it was like being soldiers living under Roman rule? Legion: Life in the Roman Army brings to light the difficulties young men faced as a soldier of the Roman Empire over 2,000 years ago! The exhibition is open till 23rd June and costs £22 for adults!
