i lived in rootes. glad to see its still fairly cheap. had a good time there + met several long term friends. if you put it first you're pretty much guaranteed to get it

all the en suites looking decreasingly affordable with the current student loan, and just as unnecessary as ever. but if you want to spend all that money living in a nice place go for it i guess (hint: wherever you live next year will probably not be as nice)

Hey, just answered this for one of my friends a few days back, here you go:

Imo the best ones claycroft because it is 5 mins away from everything even tesco which is a biggie and u share the washroom with just one person and u dont even have to clean it - quite social as well

Sherbs is good but too too far, its very social but only within itself, I recommend not getting it but the kitchen is amazing

lakeside/heronbank- the place is beautiful, i had lakeside- its kind of like a retirement home, biggest rooms and kitchens are amazing, heronbank is a homelier smaller version like a little bit more social Lakeside heronbank are not very social and if u wanna keep a party- bad idea they will call community safety lol- all in all only if u like to be on ur own take lakeside/heronbank

Also for sherbs and lakeside and heronbank- tesco is like a 30 min walk away

Cryfield- amazing accom, they have literally everything and its like a society of its own, people are nice and kitchens are amazing, a bit too pricey tho and the hall and music room- not that grand tbh

Tocil- W accom, people are amazing, bathroom sharing is honestly not that bad, very social, again 5 mins away from everything, nicer version of rootes, can be messy, kitchen stinks

Rootes- second favourite, you will get the best flatmates, messy af, very small rooms, but if u r social then this is the one for u

Bluebell- best benefits because rooms are big and spacious, kitchens are enormous and central campus centric but full of cliquey international people, a bit depressing (not worth the price tbh)

Jm/ AV- best accoms, only the 35 week let is an issue, but for international students bad idea otherwise perfect (u can move into ur friends’ place for those 5 weeks and cheapest is jm)

Westwood- just dont

Cryfield standard- just get townhouses million times better than standard

If you put tocil or rootes in ur choice list- ull prolly get them so if ure sure that u dont want thwm dont put them at all

Also please be honest in your accom form

Lol, sorry for the long answer

Yeah at first I saw £200 a week and thought that wasn't too bad but looking at the yearly cost is a whole new story, at least you get a nice lake, could go fishing for food if you can't afford the supermarkets

Heyy, I'm a second year student at Warwick.

In my first year I stayed at cryfield townhouses. I think it was absolutely worth the expense. The pros include

access the residence hub which has a cinema room which is really cool (only cryfield resisents can book it for free).

maximum 7 minute walk to central campus, can be even less depending on which block you get allocated.

large kitchen, with a sofa and a TV to which you can connect your laptop.

The cons

The rooms are a bit smaller compared to other accoms and the storage space is limited. However there is a lot of space under the bed where I stored things in plastic boxes.

There is no lift. However each tower has only 3 floors, so the only time you face a problem is when you carry a suitcase.

If you have any more questions abt accommodation, your course, uni life or Warwick in general, feel free to contact me

Why? Are you still doing A Levels, what do you study atm?

No you’re not doomed, it us just that westwood is extremely isolated, it is entirely in a different part of the campus nowhere near central, might be a long walk- I don’t know about the social aspect but you will have a long walk, but it is the centre for music, theatre and all-
You will be fine Ik sm people who were in westwood but everything turned out well for them

Prices are nice
