Hi did you use STAR menthod for ur answers ?

No i didnt because I read online strengths dont need to be answered with STAR, but in my feedback they said to use the STAR method. So i would definitely do it.

Has anyone done the pre recorded interview for the role of HMRC Customer Services Advisor in London? I plan to do it. I think it is all strengths-based?

Hi, mine one is in London ( Stratford )as well, as I said previously but I’m not sure, the question will be around Customer Service and Teamwork,I’m personally practicing answers using the STAR method in situations that is possible applying my own personal experiences, that’s what they are looking for, a few examples:
What does customer service means to you?
Tell me about yourself?
What do you do in stressful situations?
I think it will be similar do this type of questions

Yup. We just need someone to attempt it. I can't attempt until after the weekend (next week). I think they're looking to recruit more than 200 people

That’s impossible you can’t just attempt, once you start the interview you need to finish all the process. The only possibility it’s if you know someone applying for the same position or someone shares the questions.

And the deadline is Monday the 28th of October and they have roughly 250 vacancies.

For the interview, do you know how important it is to be smiley/happy, etc. I've heard some say the response is not all that counts but you have to appear enthusiastic also?

Not really but yes, they ask you an unmarked baseline question first, i.e. what you do on the weekend, to get your natural response to questions (which is also the entire purpose of strengths). I think if you dont go over-enthusiastic answering that one then monotone for the rest you should be fine. The advice I read is that its best to answer the baseline how you'd answer the rest so that its apparent its a natural response to you.
