My class is behind in A level Biology

So I go to a normal non selective sixth form. However, I am very academic and I am aspiring to go to KCL to study Psychology. My class has been behind the other 2 biology classes in our school for a while. As my class isn’t completing homework my teacher sometimes gives us time to do hw like practical write ups in lesson. Now I feel like this wastes valuable lesson time as I need an A/A* and I complete the hw at home. I’m now worried because I do Edexcel A biology and there’s 8 topics. My class has only just started topic 4 and my school ends in 2 weeks- my teacher said we will continue with the topic in Y13, while the other classes move on.
Many other schools have finished this topic as it is an AS topic. I feel like if my class is working at this rate next year we won’t be able to finish the course in time or my teacher will just rush through it. Has anyone had anyone had a similar situation? What should I be doing during the holidays or in general to make sure I can get an A* next year?

Use the endorsed textbook

And selfstudy (e.g summer holiday, free time)

You can always do your own work at home. In lessons the content teacher will teach will already be in your head and would cement more and will be active recall (best kind of revision).
Do the revision at home, during your frees, holidays, half term you can make so much time if you want!
And in yr13 when you will be finished with content while your class isn’t you can do lots of past papers for knowledge application.
I hope it all goes well!

biology is predominantly self taught meaning the teachers can give you the basics but you will eventually go over it urself and learn it. I am in yr 13 and do the same exam board as you. we finished topic 7 like a couple weeks before exams officially started, but my class took it upon themselves to self teach the content and the lessons was consolidation

no we had separate teachers who specialise in each topic, so one class for topic 7 and one class for topic 8. the teacher for topic 8 was more efficient in lessons and we saw her more times in the week (3 times) and she didn't take days off so we didn't miss any lessons unlike the other teacher who we only saw 2 times a weak and was sometimes not in for classes
