How are Adult access courses?

Just applied for an adult access Level 3 Sport Science course at my local college (as I will be 20 halfway through the course). It is part time, and I complete all the same topics in just under a year. Fortunately, the time frame isn't an issue, as I have extensively studied sports science in my free time from interest.

I was just curious of your experiences with it. I know they will go over the financial details when I have a conversation with them, but considering this is my first higher education course, how much do you reckon it will cost?

Hey,

I just completed my access course. I was very fortunate as my chosen course (science) was free as it was being funded for people living locally. Typically access courses that I’ve seen are around £3,000. However, some colleges offer discounts.

I don’t know a whole lot about it as my access course was free but I know you can apply for an advanced learner loan. I believe if you go to university within 5 years after completing the access course the government will write off the loan as well.

If you decide to pay directly, I know some colleges allow you to pay it off in instalments.
