Aspiring law students in manchester

hey im currently a year 12 student at xaverian college, i was wondering whether it would be possible to hear from other aspiring law students in other colleges in year 12 as xav doesnt have a law society etc so ive only done things through mcr programmes. i wanted to know how other people are doing in terms of experiences etc and how youll spend your summer

I'm in year 13 atm so I know that's not what you asked for. But in terms of experience, I did an online virtual experience with Forage. I did a course with Clifford Chance, which is a big law firm, with many offices around the globe, all in the space of a few hours. I got a certificate in the end, and have been contacted in regards to joining one of their Sydney Law summer internships for 2025/2026. Not sure if I'll go, but doing that has made a difference, Clifford Chance are aware of people who are interested in their virtual experiences and you have a step up if you choose to do something like this.

There's loads of virtual experiences on that website, completely free and available. Only takes a few hours. An gives you a proper insight into the sort of work you could expect as a lawyer, HR assistant, Entrepreneur etc etc

Also, the Cambridge law faculty have a few interesting videos and conversations on YouTube that I watched.

Mentioned both of these things in my personal statement, and I received offers from Cardiff University, University of York, Swansea, Aberystwyth and an interview with Cambridge.
