Will I be able to get into top university when my GCSE are average ?

Hello there,
I am currently in year 12 studying A-levels with my predictions being A*AA and wanting to either do an undergrad law or undergrad English literature. But my GCSE are not to great for reference these are my results:
English literature/language6,6 Maths4 Science- 5,5Geography- 5Italian- 4Drama- 7Religious education- 8. Is it Possible to get into universities like KCL or Queen Mary or even Cambridge with my GCSE grades being low but my A-level being high?

Generally universities don't look at GSCEs. The only ones who do is Oxbridge and even then, that is rare. If you are predicted high grades and can prove the passion for your subject at interview, then you definitely have as much as a chance as anyone else. If you don't get into Cambridge, other universities are very unlikely to consider your GSCEs and you should have a great chance of getting accepted provided that you keep working towards those good grades. Hope this helps

Hi there!

Keep going and working hard to get your desired scores! You still have a lot of time, and I know most universities only look at the a level grades not GCSE except maths and English scores!

I wish you the very very best!
