same I plan on only retaking maths tho, as I want a 7 and I think i got a 6 - only bc i wanna apply for oxbridge too. I feel pretty confident on the rest of my gcses, I may retake a science tho depends on the grade I get obviously. I am also doing my 11th gcse next year, so maybe revising for 3 gcses on top of 3 a levels + EPQ isn't worth it

It depends what course you want to study. If it is medicine then yes, resits do reduce your chances. Also realistically if you don’t get at least 7 9s your chances of getting into Oxbridge medicine are very low x

if i retake and i end up getting A*(8/9) ,in all of my resits is there a chance or is there a huge damage of my chances at oxford or cambrigde, most especially cambrige, as it does not weigh gcse much unlike oxford?

If you wanna do medicine at Oxford, personally I would say it’s risky applying bc from what I’ve heard it’s gcse heavy. But tbf you could have a good shot at Cambridge provided good A levels and UCAT - honestly though don’t stress GCSEs mean nothing in the long run x

I was wondering the same thing - I’ve posted questions regarding this, most of the replies stated that Cambridge doesn’t actually care to much about GCSEs, so resitting will not put you at a huge disadvantage especially if you achieve higher grades so I’d say resit if you want to but defo try hard at a levels and UCAT as those are the deciding factors
