Starting Wolverhampton MSc Psych Conversion June 2024

Hi All,

I am due to start the online conversion for Psychology of Mental Health at Wolverhampton in a few days. Wondering if anyone else has done it and can give any words of advice or share their experience of the level of interaction with tutors or recommended reading prior to starting, I'd very much appreciate it.

While it is the cheapest course out there, I've done extensive research and the bottom line is it doesn't seem to matter when it comes to applying for doctoral courses as long as you get the grades and work experience. If anyone has anything different to share in this respect please let me know!

Also if anyone else is starting the course soon and wants to collaborate as we progress through the course, I'd love to hear from you.

Hello - I wondered how this was going, and whether it was what you expected? I'm considering starting this in September, but a bit worried about how much work there will be each week - I know it says 18-20 hours per module, but how much of this is reading as opposed to lectures/ discussion groups etc?

Hi Hayley, would love to hear how your course is going too and if you'd recommend it? I'm considering enrolling for Jan 2025 🙂

Donna, I'm thinking of starting then as well... would be nice to have more info about the course.

Hi All, apologies for not seeing these sooner. I'm on my 4th module now. The first two went very well, great tutors and really engaging. The third one was really not good at all, quite a poor standard of teaching and very disorganised. I'm hoping module 4 turns out better but so far it's worth sticking with for the price. If you're good at motivating yourself and need to keep costs down it's a good option. Feel free to reach out with anything further I'd be happy to answer specific questions.

Hi,
I'm glad that I found your review after I had read a bad one, I am enrolled in the March cohort. Are you still happy with the program?

Hi Hayley,
I'm considering this course starting in April, can I ask what module you found disappointing and poor teaching. I'm looking for an affordable way to do the course but obviously want a good standard of course content too.
Also,
With the course material is it all reading lists or do they have podcasts, quizzes, articles as well? Hope you are enjoying module 4!

Hi everyone! I'm on my third module and other than one fairly large concern related to assessments, it's been a positive experience. It's a fairly long gripe so I've detailed it all here if you'd like to read about it.

Hi

I haven't studied mental health as such, however, I did do an MSc Psychology (conversion) at Arden and I had a great time. For any psychology course at masters level I recommend an excellent book by Coolican called 'Statistics and Research Methods In psychology' - it was invaluable!

If anyone is looking for a 100% distanced learning option or blended learning for Psychology, why not check Arden out https://arden.ac.uk/our-courses/subject/psychology
