ucas applicantions questions

for context, i want to apply for medicine

say if i apply for four med schools and then one non-medicine course. i have questions about two hypothetical scenarios

1. if i were to get rejected from all four med schools (ignorning my non medicine course). if i receive decisions for these before the january deadline, can i withdraw and then apply for a non-medicine course

1. if i were to get rejected from my non medicine course (ignoring the med courses decisions). again, if i were to receive a decision for this before the january deadline, can i withdraw and apply for an alternative non-medicine course

sorry if these are stupid questions - any clarification would be greatly appreciated!

1) Withdrawal in UCAS terminology is to irrevocably exit the cycle for that year, so no. If you were rejected, then you would just have your non-medicine choice. Everyone has 5 options, no more, no less.

2 [the second 1]) Again, no.

Sort of, though if someone has rejections for all their options, they are able to apply, one at a time, for courses in UCAS Extra
