I really recommend doing past papers and watching revision YouTube videos. What actually helped me most was tutoring since I was a lazy student and having a tutor to guide me through the studying process allowed me to focus on taking in the content without worrying about not being able to revise every single topic in time, my tutor also explained things so clearly that I understood things pretty fast. I would definitely recommend checking out The Profs!

I did AQA English Language. Watch Paul Heselton's yt videos. I assume you have the Oxford Course Book? Also, get Tom Hollins' Ultimate Guide to ALevel English Language. It is soo good, has the theories nicely written out and has example answers. Look on the AQA website fir exemplars, mark schemes etc. Firstratetutors, Mr Smith english, mr bruff, "alevel english Language" and alice preece yt videos are also good. Some of them focus on explaining theories, some are on AOs. Watch them all. Alice Preece has a video with a googledocs link to all her mindmaps, exemplars and A*/A model answers. I can't think of anything else atm but do ask if you have any questions!
I also recently posted a thread called Anybody have Model Answers for English Language ALevel?. Anelpe replied with a link to their own model answers. https://smallpdf.com/file#s=48b76e60-c7f9-44c1-994b-930dda991bea . Please thank them if you find those useful!

For edexcel politics - make essay plans!!! If you have access to seneca learning I would really recommend it for this purpose. The course on their is slightly outdated but you can find your own examples elsewhere. I created 3 large google documents with essay plans for each paper. Definitely an effective revision strategy, and would be really helpful for good grades.

Firstly, you are only in yr12 so i'd say (coming from someone predicted A*A*A) don't panic too much. Aslong as you begin/have begun making resources, as you have obviously picked very content heavy subjects. I have just finished my A-level exams for AQA Sociology (in paper 2 my options were Families n Households and Beliefs) and am selling a load of revision posters/flashcards and essay plans for nearly every question back to 2017 for all 3 papers if they would be of any help to you!

hello im currently a year 12 politics edexcel student also stuck in the same boat and I'm struggling a lot with a level edexcel politics and i've been using resources and making essays which a lot of people say are well written but i get low marks on them due to poor evaluation AO3 etc. I have made a thread on this on TSR, I wanted to request if you would be able to share any resources for my own personal use, i have tried significantly hard to find people of help who do politics but it has been a STRUGGLE and i would really appreciate it if you could perhaps share anything it would be amazing through DMs or be able to look at my essays for feedback

3 of your subjects are very easy however edexcel politics is hard and i do think it may help you to drop 1 subject and if you could id strongly advise you to drop politics as its just demanding and with the time you have left, it would be more suitable to focus on 3

Like I said on my post Seneca learning is very useful for knowledge! If you want to DM me an essay I can have a read and give you some feedback on it. If you find that you are struggling to achieve high marks I would definitely recommend asking for specific advice from your teachers as they know the mark scheme best.

Hey, I'm going to list some general techniques below and give more tailored for Sociology as that's what I also do.

Pomodoro technique

Spaced repetition

Interleaving

Flash cards (dates, keywords, statistics, techniques etc.)

Past papers/questions

Mindmap

Blurting

Self Quiz

Confer w/ friends

Teach someone and give them simple questions

Timelines (dates, key info)

Notes rewriting (key info, check what you know, change format e.g. into Cornell Notes)

Ok so Sociology:

I'd suggest first figuring out what questions you struggle with (4 markers, 10 marker, 30 markers etc.) and plan the hell out of as many as you can and try and see if your teacher is willing to mark them

Understand the mark scheme - IK it seems boring but understanding what the examiner is looking for can make writing easier, also helps prevent you being capped at certain marks

Try and find a structure for writing your answers (e.g I always us X Says (sociologist theory), which means (expand answer/point), for example (us an event/ research to match your point), this shows (answer questions), however (evaluate), I also quote an item at the very beginning of every paragraph if needed)

Have examples that match a variety of responses - helps reduce the content load

Understand the difference between a random criticism/juxtaposing evaluation and a specific criticism - this helps get you more marks as it shows "sophisticated understanding"

UNDERSTAND RESEARCH METHODS!!! - it is such a key part to your papers and understanding them and having examples makes everything so much easier, the research examples can also be used in the big essay questions

Watch politics explained tutoring on YouTube. SO helpful- definitely what got me an A in my exams last year. He goes through every topic with loads of examples and essay questions that could be asked with some plans.

I do AQA English Language and got an estimated A* in my coursework (AQA still need to moderate the mark)
Personally, use quizlet it has tons of premade flashcard sets, seneca gives you extra studies that you can use to boost your work, and practice as many past paper as possible and get your teacher to mark them.
For CLA and diversity questions, write and memorise top mark paragraphs with language examples, inclusion of contexts etc as most of the time all you need to do is change topic sentence at start if paragraph and you can apply across lots of questions, so you can spend more time on questions you have to actively think about (frameworks, editorial comparison etc) ~work smarter not harder~ 😎

I am also considering to start tutoring so if you need any help or any other current questions you can pm me and I could potentially send you some example paragraphs.
Hope this helped, you've got this 🙌

AQA sociology is a beautiful subject once you get the hang of revision and exam technique (which is admittedly hard). I'm in year 13 rn with only 1 socio paper left, so I'll tell you how I revise!
I start by condensing the whole topic into revision sheets (my friends prefer flashcards so you can try that if you'd rather, but I love revision sheets!). That way you've looked over all of the topic, decided what's important and made a good step towards learning. Make sure to get help AS SOON AS YOU SO MUCH AS STUMBLE in understanding a topic - videos, teachers, chatgpt, anything. Make sure you fully get every single concept since some of them are complicated.
Once that's done, make a list of key sociologists names you want to know. Don't go crazy with it, some people try to learn hundreds - that's not necessary for a good mark and you'll just end up getting overwhelmed and jumbling them up. I'd say maybe 5ish per topic is good. Then test yourself! Get one of those random name generators with that list in, and then make yourself remember exactly what each sociologist said.
Also continuously blurt each topic so you remember what's on it.
That's how I go about learning or memorising.

Then all that's left is exam practice! Familiarise yourself with the kinds of questions they can ask, do a practice question for any possible question you might anticipate, and have a teacher mark it.

Good luck for your mocks!
