Get back to the orignal equation:

4 - 3(root2) / 5 - 3(root2) =0

If we multiply by the denominator we get

((4-3(root2))((5-3(root2) = 20 -12roo2-15root2+12

32-27root2

..........damn! i was looking at the wrong thingy.of course...........
2 - (5x + 2) is like (2) -1(5x + 2)
which gives: (2) - 5x - 2
which gives: -5x (2-2)
which leaves: -5x

i was looking at some other crap and getting confused by mixing up 2 questions...........*bangs head against the wall and gets new pair of glasses*

I dont know, cause the other person wouldn't tell me if f(x) = 0 or not, so I presumed so.

Didn't the person want it expressed as p+q(root2)?

If you knew anything about maths, f(x) means the function.

Yes. I do know a lot about maths. And I would expect you to know that you cant just turn something into a function for convenience, nor can you assume it is equal to 0. Those assertions wont help
