Going back to University

hello,
I'm not sure if this question would fall under this category, but basically in my first year of uni I was studying law but realised i had no passion for it and decided to redo my first year doing a different subject, however due to extremely poor mental health i ended up dropping out and I've been out of uni for 2 years, after working on my mental health progressively getting better , resulting in me having more sound mind, I've decided that i would like to go back to uni, however I'm just unsure of the process on how to reapply and if I would still be entitled to funding due to those 2 first year's I had.
Thank you so much, i'm appreciative of any advice or help i can get.

You need to apply via UCAS and you'd need to call student finance as they can guide you on that.

You can get up to 4 years of student funding, so you may have 2 years worth left. You will need to make a new UCAS application, good luck with your future studies

The calculation for student finance is:

length of new course + 1 gift (year) - years of previous study

For example, you have 2 years of previous study and if your new course is 3 years: 3 + 1 - 2 = 2 years of funding. In this case you would have to self fund the first year, but the second and third years would be funded. However, if you have evidence of how your health affected your studies, you might be able to claim Compelling Personal Reasons and get an additional year funded.

What course do you hope to study as there are exceptions?

To reapply to uni, you would need to submit a UCAS application again.

Before you do anything else, contact the Uni and find out if they can even accept you back.
