Missed an exam

As a private candidate, I have missed AQA A level Geography exam due to my sickness. I ended up in a hospital, I dont know how my GP would write a letter, I would try that anyways. My query is as would AQA mark it as absent and I won't get a place in uni this year. OR they might still consider my predicted grade as final grade. Thanks in advance.

You need to ask your exam centre to make a request for "special consideration". In circumstances such as these, the exam board can assign you a grade based on the remaining papers (i.e. the ones you've already sat, or will sit). There are no circumstances where they'd use your predicted grade.

Your exam centre will likely need to see evidence that you really were ill. Presumably you have some paperwork from the hospital? If not, then your GP should be able to see that you were in hospital (as it'll be in your file), so they should be able to write a letter to that effect.

The sooner your exam centre makes the request for special consideration the better.

Predicted grades won’t come into play. What usually happens is that the exam board will use the two other exams you have completed and work out an average based on them for your third exam. This average will be used as your mark for the paper based on what they believe you would’ve most likely achieved from completing it.

Hi, sadly due to my sickness, I was only able to sit in for paper 1 of Geography, so missed one paper 2. I also missed ALL papers of Psychology, how will my grades in Psychology be determined? Thanks

You will receive no grade / qualification in Psychology, unfortunately.
