Is anyone a primary teacher in Dubai?

Hi guys, I hope your well. I wanted to make this board as I’m currently doing a degree in primary education QTS and I am in my second year. I want to do teaching abroad espeically in Dubai and I was wondering does anyone know anyone that does teaching there from the UK or does it themselves and if they could advice me as I would appreciate it thank you.

I can't give you advice as I haven't been there and I'm only starting my PGCE teacher training this year. However, I have friends who have went abroad for teaching to places such as Dubai and Kuwait and they have certainly loved it but I guess it also depends on the country you are originally from because I heard that there is still problems such as racism and discrimination which is of course a problem everywhere but the perks of no tax as wells accommodation is amazing. Also with the racism and discrimination problem I guess if you familiarise yourself with the culture it would be amazing as they have Ramadan and Eid as well as different days for the weekend as its Friday and Saturday. Wish I had more to talk about but I'm simply speaking from my friends experiences.

Hey thank you for your response girl. I’m a British Muslim Pakistani female, so I hope they are not racist. Did they do their ECT their sis and how did they secure a job and what was the process like.

I don't mean to be rude but out of curiosity why do most teachers want to teach in Dubai? Like I've seen so many teaching in Dubai videos on YouTube but not in other countries like France etc

It’s because Dubai is a tax free country, it provides you accommodation and it’s safe. You can literally leave your house or your car unlock and no one would take it. You can literally walk around 3am no one would bother you that’s why people feel comfortable moving there. The place is amazing and boujee too.

I’m not a teacher myself, but I’ve lived in Dubai, and it seems like a popular move for teachers. The pay’s generally better, and schools often provide housing or an allowance.
If you do make the move, check out Smart Movers too, they help with relocations and settling in, which can take a lot of stress out of the move.
