hey im a y13 prospective med student
good luck on ur ucat, i will be following ur progress
also if u need any help pls ask me ive been thru the whole process
some useful youtube channels: emileddyucat i used also just search ucat on youtube and a lot of videos and tips will come up

i have a thing against medify lool
basc i used medify for my UCAT test, its good, the question bank is hard, way harder than the real thing for some sections e.g AR and other sections. so pls dont get bogged down cuz medify is known for the harder qs and more stringent marking

use more than one resource passmedicine is free and its got alot of UCAT mocks
if u can get medentry or do the trial for it some ppl say it more accuratley reflected the ucat
get the isc get into medical school UKCAT book i think that really helped me with vr and pattern spotting in ar
also make sure u are very familiar with the sections for me i stayed doing untimed for a while
the official ucat resources on their website are the most accurate in my opinion to the real question bank so save those till the end.

i rescheduled my acc ucat test maybe 3 times because i was so nervous and felt unprepared i didnt get high enough and didnt do much timed mocks but came out really proud with my result
good luck!!! wishing u all the strength and proud of ur score uv only just started dont feel demotivated u progress

Thank you so much I was feeling a bit discouraged but it was my first mock so I’m trying to work hard to improve so any tips would be greatly appreciated
So I have finally recovered and back on the ucat grind have done around 30mins unti med AR practice did a little dm but settle on AR cause I want to Make sure im strong in that area
Went to A UCAT webinar held by a university learned a lot about what some tips etc

could you share any ? stuggling atm lol. also what scores should we expect to start with ? ive done three dm mocks and keep getting 580 and have no idea how im going to improove
Did a mini mock on sky and got band 1 86% 56/69 really happy cause it’s an improvement from band 3
SJT not sky
Also booked my UCAT first thing this morning for 9th of august so serious revision time gonna do a dm mock when I get home as that was the worst session on my first mock wish me luck
Did DM mock I did some questions timed 15 mins got a score of 12/20 0.6 not to bad from where i was coming from obviously but would be a scaled score of 540 so above the first score in mock (used pass med as suggested) got score of 650 58.6% so may not be entierly accurate so from 527 - 650 (either score is a mega improvement to me as i was struggling with the section) To improve gonna do more subject specific mocks and also start UCAT REVISION from around 6am in the morning so I can get used to the time for my 8AM EXAMMM.

Tomorrow gonna do a AR medify and VR MOCK passmed AND MAYBE A MEDIFY DM MOCK
(edited 9 months ago)
Yesterday I did no mocks I went and did some dm and at and then touched QR like I have not touched this section at all so happy I did yesterday then I started learning the keyboard shortcuts
Gonna try and do at least an AR mock today
Ar MEDIFY mock is now done scaled score of about 540 - 680 up around 30 marks and around 9% than last time so big improvement to me
(edited 9 months ago)
Ar passmed mock
scaled score and my range 441-580
dm medify mock
scaled score and my range 407-580
I am seeing some improvement which is the main thing atp in time and my overall score seems to be increasing gonna do vr and qr mocks soon then do specialised checks on subtopics i really struggle with

ar score fell done felt harder on passmed i struggled and felt less confident may have been due to mindset though i do better in the morning gonna try to do more morning revision DO DID DM SO GONNA TRY TO WORK ON THAT AND CONSISTENCY/ACCURACY IMPROVEMENT

ALSO WATCHED SOME MEDENTRY VIDEOS CAUSE IM NOT GONNA BY IT SO THOUGHT THAT WOULD BE A GOOD WAY TO USE SOME OF THEIR RESOURCES

p.s. Any tips appreciated

Yesterday I did some practice questions not a lot just used it to improve my vr skills as I havent touched that area in a while.
Only went to a ucat webinar yesterday but I learned how to do Tax questions and some useful conversions so really happy about that
