gcse resit

if i get 99999988877 in my gcses would it be okay if i resit 3 subjects to get 99999999988 bc i just rlly wanna get more 9s, i know unis literally dont differentiate but can i just do it for myself as it will make me happy, will it put me at a disadvantage with 3 resits when applying to uni?
also preparing for resits alongside a levels will defo not be a problem for me as i have lots of spare time

You will think you have spare time but then when the force of a levels actually hit (like a brick) you will be regretting it. It's so much stress and the gcse results you have are really good, I got into oxford with 9988877 D* D* so faffing about for something that doesn't matter in the long run will not help you. If you have a lot of free time I suggest using it volunteering or getting work experience or doing clubs. Extracurriculars and supercurriculars are what jobs and unis are interested in not just a number on the page. I hope this helps and I'll remind you again, those grades are amazing and don't beat yourself up about not having all 9's

Thank you, your comment has definitely reassured me.
I think i will only resit maths in november as thats one of the subjects i think i would have got a 7 in and really wanted a 9. But other than that i dont think i will resit others now, i will focus on a levels and do other things to strengthen my uni applications 💕

I'm glad I could be of some help to you and yeah maths is probably the best one to resit especially if you are wanting to go into more stem stuff. I was a humanities person so maths being a 7 didn't matter for me.
