Florence Boot

Hi
I have received an accommodation offer for Florence Boot.
Has anyone any photos or information about this hall.
There doesn't seem to any reviews since it reopened. How social is it? What's the mix of people. Is it full of rich southerners?
How often does the bar open? If you lived there, would you recommend it?
What's the wifi like? What is the best phone network for data downloads as I think the university blocks some gaming ports?
Is anyone else living there next year?

My daughter was in FB this year. It really is beautiful, there are lots of videos of the hall, plus all of the rooms on the uni website. She found it very social, yes to a certain extent there were quite alot of very well off southerners (she's not!) but not exclusively - and I think you will find that across all of the catered options at Notts. The bar didn't open this year, but that may be because the hall wasn't full / the opening of the whole hall was delayed by about a month at the start if the year. She really enjoyed it.

(for future students), I’m in FloBo at the moment, and pay £260 a week for a premium ensuite room. It’s a super social hall, and is quite intimate as there are only about 200 people there, so everyone gets to know each other. It is mostly well-off southerners and, coming from a state school, a LOT of boarding/ private school people. The bar wasn’t open at all this year and it’s used as another lounge room. I would recommend the halls- they are so lovely- you also get included access to david ross which is so useful. I was really close to all my lectures and it’s easy to get into town via the tram spot. The Wifi etc. is fine- we use a campus wide one which is handy. Defo go for Flobo if you can afford it!!

Hey! From what I have heard, they all have the same amenities (en suite, 3/4 bed etc.) but a deluxe is just a bigger room. I've just booked my accommodation at florence boot for a premium standard, so I'm only going off of what I've heard or researched. Hope this helps!

They're not ensuite. Florence Boot just has a handful of ensuite rooms. Also some of the deluxe rooms have double beds

My son has a premium deluxe room this year. It’s a double bed, sink and around 4 x 4m
I dropped him off last week. The hall is incredible. If you don’t get allocated an en-suite, then the bathrooms are very private and brand new. Each toilet, shower, basin has its own entrance. The students seem v sociable and I’ve hardly heard from him since!!
His room has a very large window floor to ceiling, the sink is attached to a lovely built in cupboard to store toiletries. There is a wardrobe with a few hangers but bring more, All the furniture is incredible…..

If you are looking for a modern hall, sociable, good food and incredible rooms then I can recommend Florence Boot.
