I got predicted a C for chemistry but I wanna do a chemistry based subject at uni

I just recieved my yr 12 mocks and found out that I got predicted a C for chemistry. I wanna do pharmacology or biochemistry in the future but in all of the unis i've been researching I must have a B on chemistry. Should I try applying for them anyway or should i consider choosing a different uni course?

If biochemistry and pharmacology is what you really wanna do, I’d probably try applying to those courses anyways. Is there really no chance that your teachers could predict you a higher grade before uni applications? :0

my original grade was D (i probably should have said this in the first place) but the college was nice enough to predict it one grade above so i doubt they'd even up mine even more. if i do apply in pharmacology/biochem, would the chances of me being rejected high?

Some uni's accept lower grades so it's worth researching and see where you can apply. Definitely try emailing to ask

You have a few choices here.

1) Work your butt off over the summer and the start of next term - really work and don't just play at it. If you can produce higher quality work next term, your teacher may consider raising your predicted grade. Remember that you do not have to submit your UCAS application until next January, whatever your school tells you.

2) Work your butt off and get higher grades next August. Then apply for Uni during a gap year for 2025 entry with achieved grades.

3) Accept that you are not going to drag your grades up and apply to lower grade Unis - or another subject.
