I’m writing a screenplay to kickstart my career as a director. It’s about a young woman and man who go on what is presumed to be a first date, but as the evening carries on and you learn more about the two because you hear what they’re thinking and how they are talking to eachother, you learn that they’re both not very nice to eachother and are in a toxic relationship where they break up and get back together constantly.
However, I am a man and I don’t know or understand many insecurities or problems women will face in a relationship, so I thought I’d come on here and ask for some advice. You can post anonymously of course!!
Feeling jealous, not trusting your partner, constantly worried he'll cheat on you, resenting other girls he knows, being insecure that he doesn't really love you, being insecure that he's lying when he says "you're beautiful". Fear of rejection. Tbh, I can imagine it's the same for guys. Hope that helps

agree with what the other person said, but also if you’re a guy writing a female character try not to get too focused on the fact she’s a woman, just treat her like any other character or you might get caught up in cliches/stereotypes 👍

Yeah I’m trying not to and also I just thought instead of trying to create experiences from a male perspective is just morally wrong so to make it more authentic and ethical it would be best to ask for real experiences.
