I am starting a Social Work Masters in September and hoping to be lucky enough to get an NHS Social Work Bursary. If not, I will apply for Student Finance.
I emailed the Uni to say I would be grateful to be considered for the bursary and when will I find out if I've been nominated for one, and their response was this:
'The bursary for the MSc is calculated following registration in September and using the feedback obtained at the interview panel. We do try ensure all out students have a bursary but this is dependant on the availability from NHS bursaries.'
I've submitted an application for the Bursary anyway as it needs to be approved by the Uni when they decide who gets nominated. But my question now is, can I apply for Student Finance now 'just in case'?
I'm aware you cannot get both the Bursary and SFE, but can I get approved for SFE now, then cancel it if I get the bursary in September?
Whether I get the Bursary or SFE, I'm going to have to fund some of the course, so it's driving me insane not being able to plan exactly how much, what sources etc.
