Would GCSE grades of 7A* and 4 As prevent me from getting into Cambridge

I had a few personal issues during my GCSEs which disrupted my exam results. I am normally able to achieve all A* which I did in my A levels producing scores of 100 percent in my 5 subjects (maths, geography, chemistry, biology and physics). Would I have a chance of getting into these high end unis despite my low performance in GCSEs. I have also done many extracurriculars such as work experience and first aid courses.

those are not at all low grades and you would be fine to apply for cambridge. if there were any circumstances which prevented you from performing at your best, make sure to mention them on your teacher's reference

Thank you I was very worried as my parents kept on saying you need 9-10 A* mandatory for Cambridge etc.

Apparently Cambridge doesn't care as much about GCSEs, so considering your A-Levels are good as they are, and your supercurriculars are good, I doubt it's a hinderance to your application. It may be a good idea to get the extenuating circumstances into your reference though if possible. Also, maybe it's just me, but isn't this a bit of an odd time to be asking this question with regards to the admission timeline? Or are you on a gap year? (you don't have to answer, I was just curious)
