Fitzwilliam college(Cambridge university) essay comepetition results

I submitted an essay for Fitzwilliam college essay competition in March before the deadline. I recently asked the university when the results are coming, and they said it's going to come this week. But it's already Saturday, and I haven't received an email about whether I won an award or not. Did anyone receive an email about the award? Is the notification only for those who won an award? Or did they just not release the result yet? I'm genuinely confused.

They sent out the email to people who won on Tuesday 18th June but I think they are only sending out emails to people who won stuff. I’ve heard from people who’ve done it before that they don’t contact you if you haven’t won something (which sounds really annoying since they could just send out an email to everyone who entered). They are also doing a prize giving for the winners on 4th July so they might be waiting for that before they tell people who didn’t win. Hope this helps

Unfortunately but not unexpectedly, I got an email on the 19th saying that I had not been awarded a prize.

Hi, did anyone else get a Certificate of Merit, I don't know if that counts as being sort of commended or if it is a participation certificate for everyone. Thanks.
