Hiii this is a valid question, I've seen so many people ask similar questions.
I'm a year 13 student, nearly finished with my a levels. My predicted grades are A*AA, but I have a contextual ABB offer from University of York. I received grades 9998888877 At GCSE.
GCSEs in general aren't a super important part of the uni application process. Yes, you need them and yes it helps to have good grades in your gcses but a 6 is far more than acceptable (for most unis the requirements are grades 9-4) Also really the only gcses that really matter are your core subjects, namely maths and English.
The focus is definitely more on your predicted grades and personal statement, as well as your interview if you have one.
Try to do lots of extracurriculars to be able to add to your personal statement. Be outgoing, and show you have analytical and presentation skills - it's particularly important for a subject like law. Try to really prove you have an interest in studying law.
So for example, in my personal statement I talked about being head girl, about doing karate outside of school, about my English Literature coursework, about some debate aspects of my R.E A Level. I talked about books I read in preparation for a law degree (The Secret Barrister is quite a good, autobiographical series of books on the inner workings of the court through the lense of a barrister. ) I also did some virtual experience in a website called Forage, with a global law firm called Clifford Chance - highly recommend having a search on this website for a course that interests you.
Anyways, don't panic too much about your gcses. You did really well! Those are some results you should be proud of!
I hope this has helped. Good luck with everything!
