Tax for two jobs

I currently work as a TA at a primary school (31 hours p/w) and am considering taking a Saturday job at my local dance school. I would be working there 3.5 hours p/w and was just wondering how this would work tax wise?

How much do you earn from both jobs together annually?

I earn around £16k from my TA job and would earn £2,500 at the other part time job.

The tax codes for each job will be set differently, so you only get the personal allowance on the main job. This should work out such that you pay the correct overall amount of tax on the combined income

You tax code for main job should be 1257L. You can earn £12570 tax free. Above that you will be paying 20% tax on the 3430 (approx 686 pa, or £57 pm). When you start the second job make sure you complete a new starter checklist asap. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/media/6331a05f8fa8f51d29278ebc/Starter_checklist.pdf Your tax code for second job will then be BR and you will pay 20% on all of those earnings (approx £42 pm).
