Good A levels bad GCSEs?

I’m in Year 12 and am predicted A*A*A*A* in bio, chem, physics and maths
My GCSEs where not great
Bio:9
Maths:9 ( retake but 8 originally)
Chem:9
Physics:9
Further maths:9
Eng lang:9
Eng lit:9 ( retake but 8 originally)
Computing:9( retake but 8 originally)
Drama:8
Art:7
Rs: 7
I do realise these are good results but I originally wanted to go to Cambridge to study medicine but my mental health was so **** during my GCSEs idk what was wrong with me. I know I won’t be able to go to Cambridge now but does Cambridge accept GCSE resits or does it put me at a risk ?
Btw pls don’t come at me Ik my GCSEs are not ‘bad’ they are just bad for Cambridge medicine as the average successful applicant has 10 9s

I retook it about 3 weeks ago in a private exam centre - I’m just assuming I got a 9 because it was dead easy

Don't universities only take into consideration your top 8 GCSE's anyway?
You have 9's in your top 8 so you'd be a good applicant to apply to even Oxford with those grades.
And your predicted a-levels are good too, congrats!
You could apply to Cambridge or even a more competitive university with those grades, I know someone who applied abroad to Harvard and got in for Medicine there with some lower GCSE's so you're fine.

💀 not bad GCSEs even for Oxford. I’m honestly so confused why you resat some which were an 8 because Cambridge don’t even use GCSEs for medicine shortlisting 😭😭😭😭😭.

But I just wouldn’t worry about your GCSEs. Just worry about getting a 2950-3000+ in the ucat (very very difficult). Cambridge don’t care about the SJT as well.
