Medicine

Hi guys I currently study a level bio econ and maths and I’m sitting my exams now (2024). However, recently I’ve been thinking I want to study medicine but the problem is I am not taking chemistry right now so I’d probably have to sit chemistry next year privately and do the UCAT this year. I just wanted to know if this will hold me back from applying to universities in London like kings college London, UCL, St George’s etc. If anyone’s been through this let me know !

not sure specifically about London unis but some unis don't require chemistry - some specify biology OR chemistry with one other science, which can include maths (e.g Manchester) and Newcastle doesn't have subject requirements at all

When thinking of applying to medicine don't rely too much on going to a certain university or being in a certain part of the UK as you generally have to apply strategically where you're most likely to get a place based on several statistics like UCAT, GCSE grades, predicted A-level grades, work experience etc
