Difference between Cambridge North and Cambridge South in MMU halls?

Hi there, I was wondering the difference between cambridge north and south for mmu accommodation. I mainly ask this because two friends i have who have been to MMU for a year now have told me separately "just make sure to get Cambridge North" when after recommending Cambridge. I'd like to hear peoples opinions on what makes South the lesser option? Or is it,say, more/less social and down to preference rather than a more objective reason not to go there e.g. less modern? Thanks
