myspace metalcore / deathcore fans

just looking for some people with similar music taste as me . bands like carnifex , asking alexandria, bring me the horizon , suicide silence , attack attack , etc ! these bands peaked around the 2000s and its pretty hard to find fans nowadays

i recognise all of those bands, used to listen to BMTH and Suicide Silence quite a bit when i was younger :moon:

do you like Rolo Tomassi? more mathcore but it was one of the first shows i went to when i was 13 :lol:

haha yeah i know this band, theyre pretty good . im more of a new generation fan of metalcore because im 18 and most of the music i listen to now was released before i was born :bawling:

i like this BMTH song from their more mathcore beginnings

tbf its a good time to get into it older and now since there is a bit of a revival 🙂 when i started to going to shows in like 2011/2012 was a bit after the peak myspace era and the "Rise Records" sound was what most bands were copying which got a bit stale. But yeah i prefer the rawer sound like that early BMTH, that was one of the first songs i heard from them when my older brother was playing it. most people at my school just called it all screamo :rofl:

BMTH ive never seen live actually, but i liked everything they did up to sempiternal which was a nice change of pace. Ive not really listened to anything after that but heard their new one is meant to be good

i used to listen to this band quite a bit, they had a big following on myspace but sort of just disappeared. bit more just emo but still bangs :biggrin:

who are your favourite bands atm?

oh yeah this band sounds good ! i like emo bands too, like a skylit drive , alesana and escape the fate . right now ive been really digging eths (french metalcore/nu metal) and angelmaker (deathcore)

these are some of eths more popular songs, but all the songs off of both these albums are great . i just love the harshness in the vocals

oh this is pretty cool, never heard of them! tbh french usually sounds kind of funny to me in songs :lol:

but her vocals are pretty good. some pretty good riffs too :biggrin:

those bands are such throwbacks, ive gone full circle from loving to hating to loving the real cheesy stuff like Eyes Set To Kill. i also used to listen to a lot of the "djent" bands that was becoming popular at that time. but yeah i dont listen to much new metalcore stuff these days, mostly i dont like the mixing it's all a bit overprocessed to me. for example one of my favourite bands was Vildhjarta, their first album and EP are very good, nice thick djenty sound and they were insane live. But they finally released a followup in 2021 and whilst i like some of the songs on it, the mix sounds awful to me, its compressed af. even listening back to a lot of stuff that was on my ipod it's a bit hard to listen as my tastes have changed. ill mostly listen to it for nostalgia.
hard to pick favourites, but i really like Veil of Maya's first three albums still. Structures first EP. Still listen to Fall of Troy a bit. Fallujah, Cynic, Ulcerate, PsyOpus. RX Bandit's Mandala album is really good. Listened to Whitechapel for the first time in years nd liked some of the stuff i forgot about. Cant think of any others as i mostly listen to dance/chillout music these days, mostly looking at the bands ive listened to on my last.fm which i restarted about a year ago :moon:

Oh and literally just this one song by Aegaeon i replay all the time, where they had a different vocalist who i wish stayed and did more with them. It's like "atmospheric deathcore". Idk why but the texture of his growls is really soothing to me :lol:
