What jobs should I do for summer holidays?

I wanna work a tame job maybe once or twice a week. My parents want me to do charity work for my CV but I don't give a flying **** about doing that type of stuff for my future and I'd rather not help people in that sort of way at the moment. I want some rest. What type of low maintenance jobs are available in a small town???

Whereabouts are you? I’m in a seaside tourist resort so there’s loads of hospitality work here.

Also charity work can be anything and your attitude towards it reads as very immature - I’m 31 and currently work 2 days a week and then volunteer in a nursery another 2, I’ll cut this to 1 when im back to study in September

how are you finding this volunteering? I’d ideally like something political but I’m up for anything really. I’m in the Southeast and I can’t seem to find any info on my local towns websites without needing “experience” which I unfortunately don’t have.

Also can I apply to a part time job when I know I can only work 3 months ( I’ll be going to uni in September)? Can I apply and then just tell them in my interview or should I just stick to seasonal/temp which I already can’t find either.

Nothing wrong with charity work. Its something good to put on your CV and it gives you experience when applying for a job. Like another poster said, it sounds a bit immature.
Jobs wise- Try local shops, supermarkets, fast food places, cafes, restaurants, cinemas, local attractions, touristy type places etc.

I'm in Rochdale, Greater Manchester and I've actually done a job where I help animals clean their poo and like take care of them but the thing I don't like is like the people I might have to help if I were to do actual charity work. That scares me. I'm not a very social creature so it gives me the shivers to think about doing that stuff. I also said that I don't care about charity work at the moment because my parents keep on pushing me to do it and it's agitating me.

Only reason I don't wanna do charity work is because my parents keep on pushing me to and it makes me feel ingenuous if I were to actually go through with it. I was trying to be funny with that comment but my bad. I'm just 15 and doing a job I'm not comfortable with to get good points on a CV is not one of my priorities right now :frown:

I just called my sons old nursery (he’s in year 2 now) and asked if they needed an extra pair of hands and they jumped at it.

Political there has been loads around recently with campaigning and canvassing - have you reached out to your MP/other political party you support in your area?
